    As a Lego family we still prefer the Lego "click" but we love the creativity of megabloks offerings.

    This bag is a super value. Excellent pieces, plenty of variety, fun colors, good ideas and really easy to create your own inventions.

    The only thing that really sucks is to get most of the instructions, you have to have a tablet. No pc download of PDFs. No web app. No smartphone app support. Can't even mail in for it. Literally only for a tablet. Well. Our family doesn't have a tablet and my son really really wants to build the cool ideas shown on the bag and can't understand why we can't get the instructions. You know what buddy, me neither 🤷‍♀️

    Amazing quality for the price! They are now mixed into the batch of Lego brand bricks and I can not tell the difference. There is none! I also liked that unlike other off brands in Amazon this company shows you more colors, unique types and amounts of each brick included in the bag. My son has been building for over a week and hasn’t used them all. Only complaint, but not a big one, I really wish it had just a handful of really long 2x16 plates. He loves building houses and this would have been a bonus!

    This set is a mixed bag in more ways than one.

    There are some things I like a lot.

    The little shooter accessories are quite fun. So is the wavey spring. The cactus model is adorable and close to a high-quality build.

    On the other hand of the 17 things there are directions for, only a handful are that exciting. And most of them are only accessible through an obnoxious app that makes model assembly take longer because it separates what would be single steps in the paper directions into tons of separate swipes. And that's not even considering that the directions aren't even available for download to a regular laptop. I had to virtualize an Android tablet on my computer to be able to access the directions. Really really obnoxious.

    Another thing that's very irritating, once you've figured out a way to get the directions, is that there are not indications of which models you can have built at once, which can be an issue if you have more than one child. At times it's also not clear which color is which in the directions because the set has many similar colors.

    In general these still have a ways to go. Assemblies that might be crisp in other brands often have a bit of flex, and the ball joints in particular can't always support the weight put on them in at least one of the models in the directions. Sometimes it's more difficult than it should be to snap pieces together and the set also overuses male to male 2x1 plates and uses some unholy (IMO) 2x1 to 3x1 offset alignment plates.

    Still, on sale it's an excellent value, though I think considering the overall inclusions and model designs could have improved it a lot.
